Customer reviews

  • 5/5 stars

What a great service! Tavia came to my hotel room, was pleasant - nothing awkward. But the best was a SUPER massage! I knew I was holding tension - and she found it! Afterwards I felt SO much better. I just wished I lived closer. I may have to make sure I travel through Albuquerque more often!

    Thank you!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Sometimes it's difficult finding a licensed professional massage therapist these days because the industry is flooded with prostitutes posing as massage therapists. This unfortunately damages the "real" massage therapists' reputations, but I assure you that I've had all the training and have the skills you need to make you feel better.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. I provide all the equipment and supplies for your appointment including: portable massage table, soothing music, pillows, sheets, cream/lotion, and essential oils. It's important that there's enough room for me to set up and walk around a folding massage table. All of my massages are professional, so there's nothing sexual or sensual about them.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Being a mobile out-call massage service is a great way to separate myself from the rest of the competition.
I'm a licensed massage instructor RMTI-S0329, and have been licensed as an LMT since 2001. I've had the opportunity to work on quite a few celebrities including actors: Sean Patrick Flanery and Carrotop, rock stars: Korn, Papa Roach, and Harry Connick Jr., and many other celebrities of different traits.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I've always liked being able to help people. It makes me feel good after massaging someone when they tell me, "That's the best massage I've ever had!" Since I was 5 years old I've been massaging my family and friends. Some people say I have "Old Hands" referring to me as a reincarnated massage therapist.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. It's required by law that all state licensed massage professionals take 16 CEU's every 2 years, and I am up to date on mine. I usually learn courses involving: medical massage, headaches, neuromuscular therapy, deep tissue massage, trigger-point therapy, and sports massage. As a massage instructor RMTI-S I'm required to take more CEU's than an LMT, so I have all my T's crossed and all my I's dotted.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Corporate chair massage events differ in price range than a mobile table massage service. I charge $55/hr per therapist, and a $25 one time travel fee for each therapist each day of service. So it gets a little complicated figuring out how many therapists a company needs depending on how many employees need to be treated and how long they want their sessions (15 minutes is average). I schedule 5 minute intervals between each client as well, so every 20 minutes a person is getting massaged. Break times are not included in charges, but intervals are.

Tavia is the best, pure and simple. I'm a big guy, who has had trouble with massage therapists being able to get 'deep enough' to do any good. I've never had that trouble with Tavia. Plus, she knows in an instant what spot (or spots) are bothering you and goes right after it. I highly recommend Muscle Surfing if you want an excellent massage.
