FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have customers that call up and want a quote over the phone on taking a tree down. Several factors come into play here. How far from the street is the tree? How tall is the tree? Is the tree over hanging any structures or neighbors yard? All these can affect the pricing. I had one customer that called up and wanted a quote to take a 40' X 40' tree out and I wouldn't quote him over the phone. He got quotes over the phone for a tree that size and then he called me back to come out. The tree was only 20 X 20 and my quote was 1/2 of the other bids.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My jobs vary. I have taken down 120 foot cottonwood trees to cleaning out a garage. I do a lot of gravel jobs and a lot of weed removal.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I had a police officer hire me to take a tree down for him. One look at the tree and property I knew why. He had tried himself first. He had a dog kennel in the back and in one side there was a big dent on the top railing. He had cut a branch and didn't realise where it would fall, it fell on the kennel. The tree was 60' feet tall and over hung three other properties and one of them had a swimming pool, hot tub and a lot of hanging plants in it. We took it down and ground out the stump with no damage to anything.
