I am a tutor in Spanish, Math and Science topics.

I have a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry with extensive tutoring experience in Pre-K to 6th grade. I previously tutored under the NCLB program (No Child Left Behind).

I specialize in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Chemistry, Pre-calculus, and Biology.

Spanish math lessons are also available.

Cancellations require at least 24 hours via phone or email.

    Where do we begin? Our daughter struggled desperately with Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry and Pre-Calculas over the past three years. In just six weeks, she went from confused and frustrated to confident and excited. Ms. Shaw took complicated math formulas and broke them down to easy to understand steps. Our daughter's school grade jumped two full levels. Her score on the SAT soared to a level we did not think possible prior to her tutorial sessions with Barbara. We are so blessed we found Barbara before it was too late. You can be sure my sons will be using her services in the upcoming school year and for the next few years to come. She is truly the best I have ever come across and recommend her highly to any student stuggling or any good student who simply wants to become great!! Barbara thank you again for being there for us in our time of math need!

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. I hope to hold classes online for all to see or for a large group of students. I believe that when large group of students gather and have common questions, it's easier to manage the same questions everyone may have. By providing my services online, I hope that not just one person can benefit from my tutoring services but everyone too. Also, I believe that having a face-to-face interaction improves the relation between tutor and student even if it's through a camera. My goal is to motivate and improve the intercommunication between student and tutor. Of course, feedback from students is always more than welcome, that's how I learn to improve my services to them.
