I am a professional Japanese interpreter and translator, with more than 20 years of experience both in Japan and in the US. My services include liaison, consecutive or simultaneous interpreting at technical/non-technical conferences and English-Japanese/Japanese-English document translations. Interpretation at a conference call through Skype is also provided.
All the customers I have worked for so far are very satisfied with my professional services. Based upon the dedicated preparation and advanced research, I can take care of even highly technical interpretation or translation projects. Because of my six years of experience as a full-time in-house interpreter/translator at a radiation research institute in Japan, medical-related fields, including clinical studies, immunology, genetics, etc., have become my specialties. Lately, dentistry (a field of dental implant in particular) has been included in my specialties after several simultaneous interpretation projects at professional dental implant seminars and translations of dental research protocols.
Regarding interpretation services, my rates vary and depend upon the assignment technicality. For the document translations, $0.12 per original word (for English-Japanese) or character (for Japanese-English) or $30.00 per hour for small quantity and proofreading projects is applied.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. This is because I have a solid background based on several years of professional learning at a couple of interpreters training institutes in Japan and OJT (on-the-job-training) thereafter at various venues both in Japan and the U.S. Also, for more than two decades I have been able to provide all my clients with prompt and precise services to meet their needs.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I like most about my job is to be able to have opportunities to learn different fields and meet new people that I may probably not be able to get to know unless I do interpretation/translation.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Their most common question is; "Each assignment must be concerning a completely different field. How do you handle it to provide decent interpretation performance and/or translation product?"
My answer is; " I dedicate a lot of time to the research in advance by looking at the client's company website to get to know their techinical terminology and products, and reading the actual presentations' scripts if I am lucky to have those. I try to do everything I can do as part of my preparation. Actually, I enjoy this intensive learning process."
