A. Don't get ripped off!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Make sure all of their data is backed up onto a flash drive or some other device.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Because I am the best!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Fixing other peoples computers and seeing them smile!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Should I buy a new computer and throw the old one away? No! Let me fix the old one.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Last week my dad called me to say his keyboard on his laptop computer stopped working after he did some kind of an update with a peice of software he had purchased last year. Now I will not say the name of the software but it is for spyware. So he tells me that he is going to call the manufacturer of his laptop and he wanted to send it in to get repaired. I advised that we needed to rule out any software issues first because he hadn't spilled anything on his keyboard nor had he dropped it either. That is the first rule of troubleshooting, first rule out software! So we re imaged the hard drive and what do you know? The keyboard works! Keep in mind this was alll done over the phone, long distance!
Now my sister has a desktop computer and last year she put this same software on her computer and it has not been right ever since. She happens to live in the same town as I do, so today I am going over to her house and will reformat the hard drive and reinstall all of her drivers. She has been dealing with this issue for over a year and is ready to throw the computer out the mindow! I reassured her that I would make it like it was brand new!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. That I am very passionate about my work!

A. It just happened
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. Another friend had got a virus on her laptop and she was able to reinstall the operating system but she had no drivers and so she though her computer was in safe mode because again, if the video driver is not installed the screen will look funny. I installed all of her drivers and she was so happy!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes currently I am studying for my CCN. Cisco Certified Network associate
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Studt, study, study!!!
