Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Check to see if the provider offers any type of guarantee for their work. There are lots of people who may think they know how to repair electronic equipment just by watching some YouTube videos. The real experts are confident of their abilities and you can tell when talking to them. They offer a great guarantee and can provide fast service. Don't always go for the provider with the lowest price. The saying goes that you get what you pay for. The parts may be lower quality. Rarely will you find a provider who includes OEM parts. If they did, they wouldn't be able to compete on prices with others in the market who use aftermarket parts.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Most repair shops use aftermarket parts because the prices are at least 50 percent less than top grade parts. Aftermarket really range in quality. It depends on where the provider purchased the parts. You shouldn't worry as a credible provider will offer a great warranty on the part in case anything does happen with a bad part.
People who are experienced with repairing iPhones should take no longer than 15 to 20 minutes to fix cracked screens and LCDs. Changing the battery will not take longer than 10 minutes. Changing the back housing and headphone jack take the longest. Average time for that is 15-25 minutes. A good provider will give you an estimate of the time to service your device before working on it.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Do you offer a guarantee? How long does it take to repair certain parts of the phone? How long have you been repairing phones?
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Does the provider offer a guarantee or warranty? Can the provider give easy to understand explanations of how the iPhone works and the repair process so that the customer knows what to expect.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I have fixed over 3,000 iPhones in my career. That means that I have seen just about any type of problem that may arise from repairing this device. I can spot the problem early therefore it takes less time to repair and also the quality of my work is better because I know how to repair certain things that many people cannot. Rather than do a sloppy repair job, I strive to fix it right the first time so that I do not have to see the customer come back with the phone a second or third time.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I like the fact that I am providing a service that people really need. Everyone cannot live without their phones. When I do a repair in such a short time, I get surprise looks like they did not expect it to be that fast. People always enjoy watching me repair their devices.
