- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Owner, Claude Borders, started studying music in 5th grade when he took up the french horn in Illinois. He always enjoyed the music at church and at the high school concerts and musicals of his 3 older sisters. Family vacations included concerts and musicals and searching for instruments to try. Getting a full ride scholarship to Illinois Wesleyan University, Claude was asked to play with the faculty brass quintet as a freshman. During college he auditioned and was accepted into the Disneyland Band in California. This was the gig of a lifetime as many famous performers were instructors and guest clinicians during that summer. After teaching band, choir, orchestra, general music, handbells, and church music for 20 years, Claude auditioned for the USAF Band Liberty in Boston and spent the next 6 years performing 200 concerts a year throughout New York and New England. He took his lifelong dream of owning a music academy to reality when in 2009 he opened a 6 room studio in NW Las Vegas. In September 2012 the next step was into a larger 14 room studio at Azure and Tenaya. Claude looks forward to the next 20 years to see what miracles will happen in his life.
