Looking for private music instruction in Las Vegas, NV? The Brill Music Academy provides one-on-one lessons on all instruments and voice. Check us out at www.1stacademyofmusic.com – Sep 13, 2011 at 12:26 pm
The Brill Music Academy provides private, one-on-one instruction on all instruments and voice. Our goal is to provide students of all ages with the skills they need to enjoy music for a lifetime.
Over half of our instructors have a master's degree. Several are music teachers with the school district, and others are professional musicians who have toured across the country and around the world.
We hold an annual recital in the spring which is voluntary.
However, we encourage our students to participate in order to show family and friends how they are progressing. Our recitals are always well received and entertaining!
Lessons are normally taken once a week, and are either 30 minutes or 60 minutes in length. We use an auto-debit system, putting the cost of lessons on either a Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. There is an annual registration fee of $25. Half-hour lessons are $115 per month and one-hour lessons are $230 per month.
After taking out all the holidays and other days we are closed, we have averaged out the number of lessons over the year. Most months you will receive four lessons, some months you will receive five because there are five weeks that month. Because of a holiday, some months you may only receive three lessons, but you are never paying for a day that we are closed.
Our INSTRUMENT RENTAL program is rent-to-own for band and orchestra and provides quality, top brand instruments at great prices. Call us for details.
We are open Mondays - Fridays, from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Saturdays, from 9 A.M. - 2 P.M.

I had a hard time finding a place that my son could get lessons on a stand up bass and cello for school orchestra. I called many local music academies and finally found the Brill Music Academy. The ladies who are at the front desk are great! They were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I have nothing but praise for this school. I have dealt personally with the owner, Fred Green, and he has always been helpful and understanding. My son's teacher is the greatest! He worked with Jason and helped him to improve to the point that Jason is now wanting to work towards a scholarship when it comes time for college. I would recommend this academy to anyone and everyone who is looking for first rate instruction and a business that really cares about teaching music.

A. 1. Ask about the education and experience of the music teacher.
2. Check online reviews.
3. Visit the school and observe atmosphere. Is it family-oriented? Is the staff friendly?
4. Can you sit in on the lessons?
5. Are there observations windows in the rooms?
6. What are the policies for payment and cancellation?
7. Do you have recitals or other performance opportunities?
8. Check with the music teachers at nearby public & private schools for opinion or suggestions for private music lessons.
A. 1. Commitment to practicing. Just like learning a new language, if you don't use it, you lose it.
2. When are you available within the business hours of the school?
3. Will you be interested in your child's progress or just drop them off for 30 min or an hour each week? Our teachers give feedback for each lesson when the parent is there.
4. Learning an instrument or to sing is a physical and mental calisthenics exercise. Neural pathways are being changed to learn something new. It doesn't happen overnight or even in 30 days. If you truly want to learn and enjoy the process, decide to put the time in to do it right.
A. Our instructors are all university trained and/or professionally experienced. They are patient and friendly teachers who inspire their students to excel. Our full-time staff is available to answer questions and help with the administrative part of taking lessons. YOU are important to us and our goal is to provide our students with the skills they need to enjoy music for a lifetime.
