Question and answer
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Each student, whether they are 4 years old or 64 years old, is an individual. I listen to the goals and desires of each person and come up with a course of learning that will achieve those wants. I want to ensure that the student's experience with me is one that will foster a lifelong love of making music. All students are given fundamental skills needed to play an instrument. Once the student achieves some basic command and control over the instrument, we start adding in personal preferences. It keeps me fresh as well learning new music, groups and singers that are popular today. I have also been known to download music that is too hard for a student and write an easier arrangement for them.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. The most common question I am asked is "How much time do I need to devote to practicing?" That is an easy and a complicated question.
My short answer is to take your age, for instance 9 years old, and practice one minute for each year old you are. In this case, you would practice 9 minutes a day. Progress will be made, but it will be VERY SLOW!! However, I have found that most students can and will adhere to this advice.
As with anything in life, the more you put into it, the better you will become and the faster you will improve. Having spent my career as a professional musician, I know that it can take hours a day to perfect your craft. You will get out of the experience what you put into it.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. The basic price listed is for an hour lesson. However, most students take only a half hour lesson. Since it can be difficult to remember all the different sites where I may have a listing, rates are subject to change and may not be current at the time you are visiting this particular site.
Another unique feature I offer is a fifteen minute lesson. This is offered only for students on piano that are 4 or 5 years of age. Most students this age have a very short attention span. It is a quick paced 15 minutes involving music games, rhythm clapping and keyboard experience.
