- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spend hours educating myself. It's a passion to learn new things. I am a level 4 CHEK Practitioner and very proud of what I accomplished. The CHEK Institute has taught me a lot of cutting edge tricks for accomplishing client goals. I am able to work with disc disease, knee issues, shoulder problems, neck pain and hip problems. While still able to exercise my client, make them strong, and get them pain free. I am a Postural Alignment Specialist 2 certified with Egoscue Pain Freee Living and have implemented their pain control system into my work. I am able to help you increase function which translates into strength, coordination, balance, speed and intensity. I will always be looking to the next thing to learn.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was always frustrated because everyone else seemed to get results, but I couldn't quite get there. After Yo Yo dieting for 44 years, I woke up and realized the only way I would become the lean sleek body I wanted was to make a lifestyle change. I was coined "medically obese" at that time in my life. Today, at 63 I am a size 4 and very active. I cycle, weight train, hike and enjoy my physical health. At 49 after losing weight, I encountered a painful back problem. Not wanting to do drugs or limit my life style, it sent me looking for help in alternative care. Back to school I went, and today can I help you get your goal, even if you have knee, back, shoulder, or neck issues that is not a problem. All you have to do is show up and let me assess you. - What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with people who have chronic issues and would like to work out or get in shape. Whether a herniated disc or just feeling tired and sluggish, I put together a personalized program that will help them create the health and body they want. Most if not all my clients go on to do other activities such as cycling, hiking, running, triathlons, hunting, golfing and the list goes on. Personal freedom without painful restrictions or decrease in performance.
