FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have design degree and have taken continuing education classes at UNLV in Fashion Photography and various multi-day seminars from well known professional photography educators.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up following my parents around and adopting hand-me down equipment. I'd photograph car races, bicycle races and even some of my high school baseball games when I wasn't on the field. I studied industrial design in college and have worked in the design industry for over twenty years and started photographing sports again in 2001 when my oldest daughter started playing organized sports. By the mid 2000s I had sold images to several magazines and numerous parents young athletes and found that I loved doing it. When the market crashed in 2008 and the company I worked for started laying people off I used my severance package to purchase professional level digital cameras and lenses and got a primary photographer job at the premier wedding chapel on the Las Vegas strip. I learned a ton and kicked off my professional photography career.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I photograph everything from sports and special events to commercial and editorial sessions. I'm game to try new things and more often than not I love it!
