FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My experience started in the sign industry as a Sign Painter and Calligrapher for a local company where I painted large sign panels, Real estate Signs, Billboards, Illustrations for logos, When the sign industry was introduced to the computer industry I was forced to learn the graphics applications needed to make vinyl lettering. " no more paint brushes" Although I tried to hang on to the old way as long as I could. It became clear to me that if i wanted to be the best in this industry I needed to learn about website design and development. Who knew it would become the business that I have today.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I always tell clients to get at least 4 bids whenever a new project becomes open for bid. However even more important is to make sure the company you contact is capable. Take a look at their old projects not just the new ones because old work will expose the projects that could have goon wrong. If the back door is broken then you might not want to go in the front one. Also do a search on Google with the words scam or complaints before their company name. This is a great way to see what is hidden behind the first impression.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
The thing I think is the most in the dark is what we go through with software and code updates. It's really a weekly process of study and research that never seems to stop. Whether it's HTML, CSS or JavaScript there's always changes that we need to be aware of, and after all that's what you pay us for. The study of computer science has changes but when all is said and done it is still a science.
