Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I consider myself more of a coach than a teacher---I give the student the tools to succeed and they can apply them to their playing situation, I teach THE WHOLE instrument---this way, the student is not limited what they play by HOW they play.

Topics covered include theory, posture, ear training, reading, rhythm, walking lines, dictation and soloing/improvisation.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I like it when a student progresses and betters his/her playing situation---better bands, more gigs, the ability to play things they couldn't before---basically reaching their musical goals---whatever they may be. Usually, I see them EXCEED those goals by a mile!!! It is VERY satisfying!!!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question from beginners is when can I start playing with others, I tell them RIGHT AWAY---find a groups of people in the same level and make noise!!!! appication is the best eay to bring the lessons home!!!

For other levels, it is usually how can I get out of the rut they are in--my answer is study of other styles and understanding that intimate knowledge of the fingerboard, good ear training and techniques can break you out of the "riff dungeon"...
