My name is Scott Daugherty, although I'm better known as that "Long Island Web Guy." Sure, I've built websites and social media presences for companies nationwide; however, my ultimate mission is putting small and medium-sized local businesses on the map and helping them interact with their customers in a friendly, brand-appropriate way that raises their bottom line.

I could go on and on about how I pursue each project with passion, creativity, and unparalleled service, but you didn't come here to read a treatise on marketing communications. Chances are, you're here because you need to put your best foot forward with new and existing customers.

So, sit back, check out a few examples of my work at my website, and contact me. Let’s discuss the many ways that I can help you build your business – effectively, economically and faster than you ever dreamed possible.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When it comes to web design and digital marketing, bigger isn't always better. In fact, the opposite is typically the case. Make sure that any provider you select is willing and able to give you the time, attention and responsiveness that you give to your own customers.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are really no "inside secrets." Many companies are overly sales-oriented and will be focused upon minimizing the time, cost and resources that go into your job. That is, when you can even get a straight answer as to what's happening with your project. Here's an inside secret: You deserve better.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Who will be managing my account on a day-to-day basis?
What happens if my site goes down late at night or over the weekend?
How many other jobs are you working on simultaneously? How can I be sure that my job is a priority?
