These guys are incredible. Moved me from a 6th fl walkup on the UES to a 4th Fl walk up on the LES in less than 2.5hrs. I would 100% recommend FPM

These guys are absolute rock stars. If you're moving, do not look any further. I've moved each year for the past 5 years and moving has always been a horrible experience--these guys legitimately made it a pleasure.
I was in a 2BR apt on the UES that was a 6th Fl walk up and these guys moved me out and into a 4th Fl walk up 90 blocks south in less than 2.5hrs. They were fast, hard working, focused, and did an amazing job. I would 100% recommend FPM

Re: Move on April 21st 2011
Kudos to the team that helped facilitate moving my mother-in-law's possessions from her home in Rosedale, NY to a storage facility in Brooklyn. Moving is a traumatic experience but the team assigned to assist her was courteous and extremely professional. I researched several companies (spoke to friends, checked the BBB, Yelp and several other sources) and the flat price quoted by David was the least expensive. David ( Fair Price Movers contact) responded to my numerous emails and phone calls. He was always polite and supportive when it came to my detailed questions. Even when I requested a copy of the company's insurance, which he did not have readily available he was honest in telling me that the owner was still working to obtain the proper documents. I liked his honesty and trusted my gut. The move was completed within 5 hours and was done to my mother-in-law's satisfaction. I visited the facility over the weekend and the team packed the items neatly into the space. This is a young company with tremendous potential for growth. I will be using this company in the near future. Moving made easier should be Fair Price Movers tag line. Thank you David and your excellent staff for a job well done!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVING COMPANY. THEY SERVICED ME YESTERDAY AND EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTH. THEY HANDLED ALL MY BELONGINGS WITH EXTRA CARE . I CALLED THEM LAST MINUTE AND THEY MADE LAST MINUTE ARRANGEMENTS FOR ME. THEY ARRIVED BEFORE PROMISED TIME . NO HIDDEN FEES THE QUOTE AND ACTUAL PRICE PAID WERE EXACTLY THE SAME ! THEIR PRICE WAS BETTER THAN ALL THE OTHER MOVING COMPANIES I CHECKED. THE TWO MOVERS I HAD ERIC AND JOSE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR ME. I AM VERUY GRATEFUL I CHOSE THEM.

A. Our most common types of jobs are local residential relocations. These jobs consist of people moving locally within the the metropolitan areas. You would typically have your bedroom(s), living room, kitchen and dining room. Usually you have packed boxes and bags and then furniture from each room...beds, sofas, tables, etc.. We would come inside, take a look at everything that needs to be moved. Then commence on the moving. We usually start with boxes/bags then work our way to the furniture. Disassembly if needed. It's either house or building, elevator or walk-up. We pickup, deliver, get paid for our services, and of course, recommended to other potential clients.
A. It's good to make sure you have everything packed and ready to go. Since we are a flat rate service, we don't do any packing of items. Furniture and sensitive items however, get wrapped and handled by the movers with our equipment. So we can give you an all inclusive flat price, you should have the list of items being moved handy. It's ok to help out on move day (some people just can't stand around and watch), but movers prefer you let us take care of the move. After all, it's what we do for a living. We only accept cash as the form of payment, which you will get a receipt for. And remember, tipping is customary, not mandatory.
A. We offer all expenses included in one FLAT price! So there's no guessing on moving costs at the end...you'll already know what you're paying upfront! This way we avoid any confusion. You don't have to worry about additional fees of any sort. It's all combined. With and hourly rate, you just get an estimate...a flat rate you get the actual cost. With an estimate, the price is open to fluctuate by means of different charges. You what you are paying hourly, so you try to keep track of time as the move goes on. Most hourly companies have other charges on top of the hourly rate. So you can only guestimate what your cost would be. There's absolutely no guessing with us! We want to be fair to you and fair to us at the same time. The cost of your move is settled before we get there.
A. Being a small company but offering just as much as large companies and providing the same professional service. Being able to amaze people and give them more insight to what moving is all about. And of course, traveling from one place to another. Being able to do or accomplish specific tasks that were a problem for other movers. And it's the satisfaction of giving satisfaction. When you satisfy customers, it's to the benefit of your business. You feel good to render great service and get appreciated for your business in the for of recommendations and tips. Referrals are just another form of advertising.
A. They ask, "Whats the flat fee?".
It's based on your inventory, distance of travel(truck expense) and access(elevator/walk-up).
"Will everything fit?"
We send the adequate size truck based on inventory given, and professional movers who can play tetris.
"What form of payment due you accept?"
We only accept cash at this time. In very rare situations will we take checks.
"Will you wrap my furniture?"
At your request and for certain items that need be, we have all moving equipment to protect sensitive items.
"Is the tip included in the flat rate?"
Absolutely not. Tipping is up to you and your gratuity. It's certainly not mandatory but customary.
A. My favorite story was when we had some damage! It was a glass dresser top (like a table top) that broke in half and was about 8ft long. The customer was particularly worried about it in the move and warned us. We made it safe through all the way until the end when it was time to bring that piece into the house. It caved in and snapped in half, just as we were about to finish! I ended up bringing the pieces back with us to the Bronx and knew of a glass shop that I saw recently. They were able to cut a knew glass top for me with the same shape and dimensions, and were inexpensive. I delivered the glass back to the lady in Long Island and had another satisfied customer.
A. Moving is more than just picking up a box and moving it. Moving does require skill, therefore experience. Not everyone is fit to be a mover...it's more than just the amount of pounds you can lift...although, that's a plus. You need to have the expertise of handling certain items to ensure a smooth transition. There are certain ways to maneuver large items to get pass obstacles such as low clearances and tight spaces. So often you have to make slight twists and turns to be able to pull off what seems impossible. It takes some experience to master these angles. In moving it's not what you move...it's how you handle what you move.
A. After doing so many years in the moving business. Seeing most of the country just off relocation services. Learning the business in and out. I decided I can do it. The business just never got boring. I would see different people travel to different places and see new things. I learned the business well that I took so much pride in my work after being with a few different companies and working with the best. Not to mention, moving kept me in excellent shape for all these years. But I realized that there wasn't much too it to start rendering this type of service. After all, I had become a moving master to the point where people realize it's more than what it seems, and have a new appreciation for the work we do.
A. We recently did a pickup and delivery in the Bronx. It was in River Park Towers where the buildings go up to about 40 floors. The customer didn't have much too move so we figured, even with a 4th floor walkup on the other end, we'd be done in no time. Wrong! It took us a good part of the day to complete. We had our man with a van service so we ended up making 2 trips. But that's not what took long. This building had 4 elevators, 2 working, and one that goes to the basement...which is the route movers have to take. With these issues and so many tenants coming in and out, the loading time took forever just waiting on a chance to grab the elevator. Using the stairs didn't work even though we were on the 3rd fl because we would have to pass through the lobby in which we were prohibited. We eventually got the job done and we don't charge any extra regardless of time, but the customer ended up giving extra out of gratitude.
Moral: Somethings are just out of your control and you just have to make the best of it.
A. Our full service is the flat rate. This involves the men and the truck with our moving equipment. The flat rate is derived from access of the job(elevator, ground level, or walk up), the pickup and delivery(distance between), and inventory(items being moved). Because every job has these factors differently, flat prices will vary accordingly.
Our labor help service involves only the use of our men. No truck. No equipment. These services are available in hourly rates as follows:
1 man 30/hr/
2men 60/hr
3 men 90/hr
4 men 120/hr
All have a 2 hour minimum and a $10 flat travel fee included.
Example: The minimum you pay for 2 men would be $130
A. Obstacles movers face...
There are many different obstacles that a mover will face during a move. This is why you have to be "mover ready". Not only is lifting and maneuvering certain objects a task, but you have to have moving awareness. This is because you need to kind of adapt to your surroundings when loading and unloading. Basically being aware of everything around you. This can be low ceilings, a hole in the ground, a broken step, chandeliers, or a puddle. There a many different obstacles that can mess up a moving experience. So there are many different gestures that movers make to combat those problems.
