Joe Schallock did an excellent job. In one room he removed both difficult wallpaper and the residual glue patches. He then primed and painted and the paint, and the crown molding and trim, came out beautifully. We then asked him to re-paint a small hallway. This job too he did expertly and quickly. I appreciated his teaching me something about paint and how it dries, and I also appreciated how carefully he cleaned up after finishing working. I recommend him highly!

Joe did an excellent job painting my apartment. He was very responsive during the bid process and has a way of establishing trust and credibility from the start. He knows what he is doing and is very diligent in making sure his work product is high quality and that the customer is satisfied. He cares, which is not always the case. Know that if you hire Joe, he will get the job done for you and you will be very satisfied in the end. I have already had a number of people comment on how nice the paint looks. It's the difference between a job that stands out and just having a fresh coat slapped up.

Joe Shallock, proprietor of We Take Pride in Our Paining, is an excellent professional painter. We hired him to do extensive work on our home after a flood from an overflowing bathtub damaged many of our interior walls and ceilings. The job entailed a lot of scraping, patching, priming, and painting of walls, ceilings and trims. We used some strong colors, which can be tricky, and his lines are near perfect. He and his assistant worked quickly and precisely, and the end result was superb. We were very appreciative that he came to our home to give an estimate and found his prices to be reasonable and fair. We will definitely hire Joe again for future jobs!

Joe did an awesome job. He did horizontal stripes in my bedroom. It took him two days only because I have made a lapse. I bought a wrong (too dark color) paint. Otherwise, he could have finished everything in one day if he didn't have to repaint the stripes. I could not be happier! Will definitely hire him again. P.S. Don't hesitate to ask him for a color advice, he is very experienced and can give you a hand if you feel lost.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I learned to paint at a very early age. My early teens. Back then there was only enamal paint. Much harder to paint with. I was always a perfectionist. Still am. I treat every job/home like it is a masterpiece. I love to paint! I love making the apt. or home beautiful for the home owner.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

With the economy circling the toilet, there are so many painters and helpers out of work. The majority claim to be professional painters. Most of which are not and were laid off for a reason. Throwing paint on the walls does not make for a professional. Even if you've been doing it for years. It takes skill and expertise to get outstanding results. With all the shoddy work being performed, customers really need to be more thorough when considering who will be doing the work. Rather than how cheap they can get it done for. You get what you pay for. Check credentials and referrences and if they're insured. If they're not insured, they could fall off the ladder and then sue you for your home. Buyer beware!!!
