History
Established in 2007
After having many hair disasters over the years from relaxers to perms to fusion extensions in the 1990's, and realized that my hair was not getting any better, I decided to explore the world of hair and got my license to practice in NYC and Virginia.

I now understand that having good hair is a process., once you have started to do chemicals of any kind, whether it is color, relaxers, perms, hi/lo lights or even a process like fusion hair extensions or weaves etc.

I have learned that good vitamin therapy, good conditioning and using the correct products and procedure for your hair is the trinity to beautiful manageable hair whatever its' texture.

Beautiful! Like any artist, Dany not only has technique, but craft. It is so rare (surprisingly) to find a hairdresser that has a strong yet receptive intuition- after my experiences with Dany I would trust her with anything related to my hair, no questions asked. To know that her priority is not only to achieve your desired look, catered to your features and style specifically, but she always maintains the integrity of your hair, in fact leaving it in a considerably better condition. She realizes that not all of us have a beauty team working on our hair daily, and quality products can break the bank, but she has always given me honest solutions, and has done independent research just for the sake of it. I return to Day time after time because I have great faith that no matter what look I am hoping to have, she knows exactly what will work for me. Having had previous hair treatments and color, I was always nervous approaching my hair. I had a friend recommend me to Dany who raved about her skill. Before anything took place, she sat me down and took the time to listen as I answered the questions of my history and concerns, and responded with relevant inquiry that gave me a healthier perspective on my hair. Just having spoken with her that first time gave me such an understanding, I might have even passed as a hair specialist myself.
I have straight hair, but for whatever reason I never explored the possible looks, I wasn't sure that they would suit me with my hair being what it is. Dany made a point of explaining that regardless of the current trends, you can make a style timeless if it is done right. I would have scoffed before my experience, but now I not only believe it, I know if to be true. Only at the hands of a talented artist like Ms. Dany herself. If only every supposed "hairdresser" had the training, art, intuition and dedication that she does. Anyone can go to beauty school, but I can't emphasize enough that this woman knows hair, and it is her passion. I am greatly looking forward to my next visit.

Great God almighty!! I am soooo glad I came in contact with Dany. She is AWESOME!! Before, my hair was thin, splitting and lifeless. Now I can tie it in knots and it's still light as a feather and soft as silk...seriously.

Maintenance is simple and I save money doing it myself and still look like I'm fresh out of a salon. Her customer service skills are pricele$$. So if your hair is not becoming to you, you should be coming to her. Not only does she care about your hair, she cares about you.

Danielle did a truly fantastic job on my hair. I have thick, very kinky natural hair, which is not so easy to manage, and my scalp is very sensitive. I wanted to keep it natural (at that time) although I'm now considering a texturizer. Danielle did a Keratin treatment. I never thought my kinky hair could ever be that smooth and soft with a flat-iron job. It was worth the time and the cost to get it done. My hair stayed straighter, longer. It was below my shoulder blades when she was done. So I added a solid trim, about 4 inches. I need that Keratin treatment again and of course Dany is only one to do. Check her out. I learned some tips on maintaining my hair health too and she's not pushy. Imagine a stylist that actually listens to what you want.

I was fortunate to visit New York City from England about 3 years ago. Danielle was my stylist and used the fantastic J.F. Lazartique Bancolier treatment on my perm. The salon experience of a wonderful head massage and shampoo by Danielle were unsurpassed and I felt pampered by a professional. My hair was soft, manageable, full bodied and benefited greatly from the treatment. Danielle gave great advice on how to care for my hair and the most beneficial products I should use for after-care. I hope to be able to use this service again when I next visit New York.

Dani has been coloring my hair for years and does an excellent job. I have fine straight hair so she takes the time and uses gentle products so that my hair looks silky and shiny. I would definitely recommend her to my friends and colleagues.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Color, balayge, fusion strand by strand hair extensions, hair treatments and keratin treatments

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. always make sure I really have my licence and certifications.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. The customer should ask to see my hair extension license

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I take my time, I never double book. I get a complete history of your hair and also your health in order to help you with your hair problems. and my prices are very very affordable because service is provided at my location

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The Flexibility and Non Pressure of a salon environment. My clients love the personal service

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How to style their hair when they leave?
What products will best help them?
and how best to use the products I recommend.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Teaching my female clients how their cycles work

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That it costs a lot of money to go to beauty school. as much as going to college and that any extra certifications like hair extensions training etc cost even more and you cannot get that knowledge without having a licence first

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I got tired of hair dressers/stylists breaking my hair from using chemicals incorrectly and doing extensions on my hair that were put in incorrectly and decided to learn how to do hair in order to help myself and others and turn it into a lucrative career.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I am always proud of all my work

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I am always doing classes in color, hair extensions... Thinking to start doing classes in updos and more cuts

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Go to school, have a good apprenticeship period that may last anything from 6 months to 2 years depending on where you go. Before working for a salon , ask if they do any training and exactly what do they train you in and will you have the opportunity to work for them fulltime. You will be surprised how many salons out there just want to use you as a shampoo girl forever and will never promote you. Ask and you will be made wise so you know how long to stay with them and from experience, never more than a few months if no training going on and if there is training but no promotion to the floor, leave in 1 year
