I’m a professional musician, composer and educator with a degree in Jazz Performance from the Lisbon University of Music. I’m originally from Portugal where I performed in the country's top jazz venues as well as in its vibrant underground jazz scene.

I started taking lessons with Philip as a complete beginner because I wanted to get the technique right before practicing on my own. After learning the basics, we mostly played over popular songs and learned the technique and the theory behind them as we went, making them very approachable and it felt super rewarding and fun at the same time.So if you're like me and you've been tempted to play drums for a while, just go for it!

Philip is an amazing teacher. I was very insecure when I started my lessons but he explains and breaks down exercises in a way that I could understand and do it. Im amazed at how much I learned and improved within a year. I was always looking forward to my next class. Im very grateful that he was my teacher and gave me the confidence that I needed to play.
