Introduction: I put a memorable comic spin on arts & culture blog posts, travel articles, first person essays on homeschooling and New York City, interviews, round ups...not to mention my seven books.
I illustrate with simple line drawings that seek to get at the human (or animal) heart of any situation.

Ayun not only has an incredible sense of humor and people but the chops to perform even complex illustration work and get it done on the dot. Every time I've worked with her I've been over the moon with what I received. The illustrations she did for our website were spot on and receive rave reviews, setting us apart from the clip-art or the no-art folks. (See her handiwork at www.girlfridayproductions.com.) She also served as the illustrator on Uncle Dave's Cow (www.uncledavescow.com) and made that book into a completely different package--she lent great ideas to the art direction and then executed. As the editor of many of Ayun's books, I can tell you she is a disciplined but brilliant writer who takes feedback like a dream.

Ayun Halliday is a delight, a wonder, and an exceptionally good writer. And it's not just the beauty of her prose--she's prompt, reliable, agreeable, flexible, and a complete pleasure to work with. I wish I had more work to give her, but since I don't (at least not right now), you're the lucky one!

Ayun Halliday is a marvel. I've relied on her for many tasks, from minor to epic: copy-editing, MS feedback, collaborative brainstorming, generative think tanking, recipe sharing, volunteer recruiting, fact-finding and more. Ayun knows more than most about a lot of things and is a go-to for all manner of info. She's smart, creative, playful, resourceful, competent and incredibly productive. I don't think I know any other human who gets as much done as she. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I was the editor for a UK edition of one of Ayun's books, and she was delightful to work with. Fun and funny, but professional and prompt, as well. She has a wonderfully creative mind and the drive to accomplish anything!
