FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As a new client, I will ask you to fill out a detailed intake form about any current issues and past history, which I will review at the first appointment. If necessary, I will perform an additional assessment before beginning the session. I will give you privacy so you can get changed and get on the table. Throughout the session I will check in with you if the pressure is ok, and I encourage you to speak up if there are any issues that might stop you from enjoying your massage. The same intake will be used in case of a Jin Shin Jyutsu session. However, you will remain clothed for the entire session, only removing shoes, wrist watch, belt, and the contents of any pockets. The touch will be light to moderate, but again you should feel free to speak up if you are not completely comfortable.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Phil Vergés is a Massage Therapist and Jin Shin Jyutsu® Practitioner who graduated from New York's prestigious Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in April 2005. He is licensed in New York State, nationally board-certified (BCTMB), and a professional member of the ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals).
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients come from all walks of life. I have had the priviledge to work with people as young as 10 and as old as 93. I have also supported the wellbeing of my own children from a very young age with Jin Shin Jyutsu.
