FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
An hour seems to be a minimum time frame for a quality lesson, so my rate is set at hourly. If we need more time for some reason, I am happy to give a few extra minutes if my schedule allows. You will never get charged more than one hour unless we both agree to extend time and payment.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy working with musicians of all levels. In the early lessons, I like to get an idea of what excites the student about music and the bass. We would talk about how much experience the student has and discuss what skills they want to develop as well as looking at short and long-term goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have many years of experience in lots of different styles of music. Versatility has always been important to me and that allows me to address a variety of topics with students. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in music performance and studied with several teachers who taught me not only how to play my instrument, but were crucial in helping me develop a musical philosophy and cultivate an active life in the arts.
