FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is largely based on time involved and the complexity of the project. Someone may want a 30 second ad created from scratch using 3D CGI and another person might want a 30 second ad using live video footage that they shoot, only needed some additional titling. Although both are 30 second ads, the 3D CGI ad would take a lot longer to create, thus the more time invested on my end would generate a higher price quote for that client. I try to keep my prices reasonable, but I'm definitely not the least expensive people out there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As technology, programs and the industry continue to advance, I am constantly teaching myself new things. I keep up with advances by going to industry events like the Cannes Film Festival to learn what new things are on the horizon. I also watch a lot of training videos to learn new programs and keep up to date on new camera equipment. I'm always researching and learning new things so I can stay current on the state of the film industry.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I came from an eleven year career as a professional trouble shooter and had always had an interest in film production. I wrote my first feature film script back in 2005 and then decided that film school was the next best thing. One advantage I have over others, is that my years as a trouble shooter prepared me for all the problems that can arise during all area's of any production, be it planning, writing, shooting or editing. This is a key mindset and required skill to have in order to function properly in this industry.
