New York Youth Musicians provides high quality, well-rounded music education without the expense of programs that we are compared to such as pre-college Programs at Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music and the like.
Our small staff of 3 (graduates from Juilliard, LaGuardia, Interlochen, The New School for Jazz, etc) are dedicated to providing the same quality of instruction with a warm and welcoming atmosphere at a substantially more affordable rate for outer-borough families.
We offer private lessons for the following majors:
* Piano
* Guitar
* Drum set
* Orchestral Percussion
* Solo Marimba
* Saxophone
* Clarinet
* Flute
We offer music therapy for children with special needs. We also offer music production and engineering for older students interested in involvement in modern styles of music such as hip-hop, pop and dance.
We have a magical way of incorporating music theory, ear training, music history and music technology into our lessons, making it a fun learning experience for our students. They leave our lessons wanting to share all of the new information that they've learned, and you'll be impressed by their new found knowledge in music.
Our "PEP!" program includes over a dozen master classes given by well accomplished and famous musicians. It's a great opportunity for our students and families to learn and interact with these notable musicians.
Our director, Ms. Diana, provides free ensemble rehearsals throughout the year for our "PEP!" members. We have performed band arrangements of songs by Panic! At the Disco, Eminem, and classical ensemble pieces as well.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We provide a well-rounded music education, which is unlike any other "private lesson" given by independent instructors. We offer a similar program that has been compared to the Pre-Colleges of prestigious NY music schools. New York Youth Musicians, however, provides this high quality, well-rounded music education at an affordable rate for families in the Outer-Boroughs and Long Island.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love interacting with the families as well as my students. Private lessons is a very personal service. I love to see my students happy, confident no matter what level their playing is, and eager to learn more. It brings me happiness to watch them grow, progress in their music education and develop a strong friendship with their families. I don't feel like a "service provider"; I feel like I'm trying to provide something unique and special to our community that will impact the lives of children and their families - whether or not they become professional musicians.
