Piano Lessons For Everyone
Introduction: I teach piano in my home. Private lessons usually once or twice a week. I teach every day except Sunday. Beginner adults and children are welcome as well as more advanced students.
Most students take half hour lessons when they begin. These cost $40.
I have had some luck with 3 year olds but most children prefer to start a bit later. And it is never too late to start!
Lessons include piano technique as well as theory and a little music history. I have an MFA in Piano Performance and a license to teach music in NYS and NYC. I have taught for many years and enjoy teaching. My background is classical and I encourage popular music and improvisation.
My students enjoy working with me because I help them to have fun in the process of learning. They also enjoy my flexibility regarding scheduling and make-up lessons. I'm a composer and sometimes write music for them to play which makes it a unique experience.

My son started taking piano lessons with Beth after his first two years with a piano teacher who, although was very nice, was not very rigorous in her methods. He could read music fairly well, but his technique was sloppy. Beth got down to basics: tempo, correct fingering, etc. Our son will never be a concert pianist, but Beth has taught him the basic skills that are needed to play well at his level. He has been with her for about four years now and he enjoys his lessons with her. She is basically everything someone could hope to find in a piano teacher: she is a professional musician herself, but she is very patient of the limitations of her students. She is very nurturing. Our son never feels discouraged.

In short, Beth Anderson is an amazing piano intsructor. I began my lessons with her about four years ago and have drastically increased my skills on piano since then. Ms. Beth Anderson-Harold really cares for the progression of each of her students and ensures they reach their full potential; learning the piano through her will not be a waste.

Beth holds her students to high standards, pushing them to be the best musicians they can be. She provides a well-rounded musical education, including music theory. Her biannual recitals help her students develop invaluable public performance skills.
