I teach piano, recorder, and voice in my home. Private lessons usually once or twice a week. Beginner adults and children are welcome as well as more advanced students.
I have had some luck with 3 year olds but most children prefer to start a bit later. And it is never too late to start!
Lessons include piano technique as well as theory and a little music history. I have an MFA in Piano Performance and a license to teach music in NYS and NYC. I have taught for many years and enjoy teaching. My background is classical and I encourage popular music and improvisation.
My students enjoy working with me because I help them to have fun in the process of learning. They also enjoy my flexibility regarding scheduling and make-up lessons. I'm a composer and sometimes write music for them to play which makes it a unique experience.
