If you're looking for tailor-made, efficient, contemporary voice and/or songwriting lessons, taught by a highly experienced teacher, with great emphasis on self-expression, reaching your goals and sheer fun - look no further :) My name is Hila and I have been a performing musician since I was 15, recording and touring my own songs - as well as jazz standards. Originally from Israel, I have studied at The Center For Jazz Studies in Tel Aviv Conservatory, and went on to immerse myself in everything from rock to pop to R&B. I gave my first voice lesson almost a decade ago, and even after thousands of teaching hours under my belt now, it feels just as exciting and invigorating. In 2020, in pursuit of becoming an even better teacher, I got my Voice Training Certification from NYVC, led by master Justin Stoney. My approach to teaching is and has always been that your needs come first, whether you are a complete beginner or a professional musician. Sure, we will be working on technique, different voice registers or chord progressions, stylistic characteristics and delivery - but it will always be tailor-made for you, your personal goals, your learning style and what matters to you. As a pianist I always wished to be more confident and versatile with using my voice. Hila helped me immensely to build some vocal technique, connect with my voice and ultimately find a new musical and very personal expression through singing. This also helped me a lot with songwriting and she had some really fruitful advice in this field as well. I took voice and songwriting lessons with Hila for 2 years. I am not a professional musician by any means, it is just a hobby for me, but our weekly lessons were such a pleasure. She is patient, kind and has a lot of knowledge to offer, and I feel like I have made great progress with her. I can now sing better, and i feel more connected to myself through both my voice and my songwriting. Highly recommended!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will get to know you, your vocal aspirations and current difficulties and your musical world, as well as your voice along the range. Then it varies greatly from student to student, but we will generally dedicate about half the lesson to exercises and technique-building, and the other half to working on songs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Vocal Training Certification from NYVC studio in Manhattan, led by master Justin Stoney. I have also studied Jazz Vocal Performance at The Center For Jazz Studies in Tel Aviv Conservatory. All of that, of course, is in addition to being an active singer and songwriter for years myself.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I believe every student is a true individual, but I have worked with many types of students - from young children to teenagers to professional singers to actors to elders and everyone in between.
