Introduction: Featured In: The New York Times, The Zoe Report, Carats and Cake, Wedding Chicks, Style Me Pretty. The ceremony is the only conversation on your wedding day that you can control. I am a wedding officiant and passionate storyteller and I've had the honor of officiating over 200 weddings since starting my company three years ago. Your ceremony will have a cinematic quality to it, taking your guests through your unique story, from your first interaction, your first date, the moment you knew it was love; the simple moments you share together and the adventures you’ve had traveling the world, up to the moment of the proposal. My words will paint a story of the two of you individually, including your respective family histories, and now the life you’re building together. I choose my words wisely, sharply, passionately, intentionally, and joyfully. Let me choose some for you.

Liz was our answer. Her level of care for each of her clients is unparalleled. She took the time to get to know us, what we were hoping to achieve in the ceremony, and worked fastidiously with me to perfect our wedding. She came to our rehearsal and saved the day with her calm awareness, attention to detail, and presence. The peace of mind as she also handled the paperwork is not to be discounted, but her talent with language and presentation are awe-inspiring. Our guests commented that they wanted to know how she knew us so well. What friend was she. I like to think that while she wasn't our friend before becoming our officiant, she is now. Something worth noting. Members of our families were skeptical that we weren't doing a church ceremony. Would it really feel like a wedding? Our two biggest critics were in tears and left saying that it was an incredibly personal, connected, and a deep blending of my husband and me, our families, and our beliefs. We can not recommend Liz and HLWT enough. She even reached out a year later and offered to make a book with our journey and use some of our wedding photos which made us have this special and beautiful memory.

Details: Wedding • Non-denominational (mentions God) • 101 - 150 guests • Help writing vows will be needed • English • Officiant will be needed at the rehearsal

There are no words that express how grateful we are with Liz . She saved the night after our wedding officiant canceled on us last minute. Even on last minute notice and through a storm warning she helped make our ceremony happen . She made our special day phenomenal. Thank you Liz for your punctuality and professionalism. Forever grateful 💜 Jose and Annie Collazo

Details: Wedding • Catholic • 21 - 50 guests • Help writing vows will be needed • Spanish • Officiant will not be needed at the rehearsal

One night while sitting at a bar, discussing who would officiate our wedding, we saw plaques from The Knot for "Have Lover Will Travel." We asked someone at the bar what that plaque was...and found Liz! Truly meant to be. We were looking for someone who understood what we wanted in terms of length and sentiment. Liz nailed it and was so easy to work with. She asked all the right questions and was very patient with us since we had a lot going on. When the day finally arrived, Liz's ceremony was beautiful. Her words were perfect, meaningful, and captivating. We wouldn't have had it any other way. We got smiles, tears, and laughs...and most importantly, compliments! Everyone loved Liz! We could not have done it without her, and we cannot recommend her enough. <3

If you are considering hiring Liz to officiate your wedding you should do it and you will not regret it. The ceremony was my favorite part of the entire day and it because of who she is. She has a gift and was made to do this. Liz really took the time to get to know us, our families, and our love story. She crafted a ceremony that was so beautiful and perfectly represented us as a couple. The part I loved most was the fact that everyone in the room really got to understand our background as a couple and our love for one another. Liz is an incredible writer and extremely talented and I'm so happy we found her. Many thanks, Liz!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is based on the writing involved in the ceremony. My "Full Ceremony" package includes a customized ceremony with a love story, an opportunity to personally honor your families, handwritten vows, and recommended readings and rituals. The "Elopement" package is a simple yet meaningful ceremony with standard vows, ring exchange, and readings. Both include the signing and filing of the license and any necessary follow-up with the City Clerk. We can also add customization according to your vision!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First we'll schedule an introductory Zoom call to get to know each other and make sure our values align. I'll learn details about the wedding and a bit about your love story. From there, I'll send you a contract and a ceremony outline with personalized questions to learn more about your journey together and your family histories. We'll set a few dates to keep us on track and so that you'll know when to expect the first draft of your ceremony. Then we'll edit the ceremony collaboratively until we're met with a final copy ahead of the wedding. On your wedding day, I always arrive at least an hour early to connect with you and your vendor team. The narration of your ceremony will be measured and impactful. There will be laughter and tears as your guests are met with a joint feeling of appreciation for what they are witnessing. I'll file the license on your behalf and will follow-up with the city clerk as necessary!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied International Business, Fashion, and Spanish in college, allowing my an understanding of different cultures and a fluency in Spanish. I have always been a writer and have been published for my creative writing during my 13 years in NYC. I worked as an assistant wedding planner for 5 years and also worked in Marketing for a wedding dress designer for 2 years. I love this industry and am passionate about using my talent to craft beautiful ceremonies for couples and their guests!
