A. There are several key components to planning a successful wedding everything from picking the right type of venue to meeting the timeline deliverables to each of your vendors. Why take a chance with making the wrong choice and having to start again? Your wedding planner is your personal confidant, someone who you can vent all your frustrations to and manage all the tasks associated with your wedding you don’t have time to do, so you can spend more time with your family and friends and truly enjoy the joy of being engaged and “Be a Guest at Your Own Wedding”.
A. A wedding planner’s skills should be consistent with their personality. This is a people business where you spend all your time speaking with an assortment of vendors, guests, bridal party, family members etc. The person who assists you with your special event should be friendly and approachable.
A. What type of formal training have you had?
Are you a member of any major bridal or wedding/special event trade associations?
Do you personally attend every wedding?
Do you charge for an initial meeting?
Will the consultant read over the vendor contracts for you?
How do you stay on top of new trends in the industry?
Will the consultant coordinate delivery, arrival, and setup times with photographer, florist, musicians, caterer/banquet manager, et al?
For the day of the wedding, will the consultant be willing to oversee the entire event by supervising vendors, troubleshooting emergencies, and soothing nerves?
Will the consultant help plan and book your honeymoon?
How many hours does it take you to plan a wedding?
How many hours are you on site the day of the wedding?
Do you help with setup and tear down?
Will you help with the processional and recessional?
Will you bring an emergency kit?
What won’t you help with?
Are you present at the rehearsal?
Will you assist with lodging arrangements for our out of town guests?
A. Before seeking a wedding planner couples should think about the following:
1. Approximately how many guests will you be inviting to your event. Clients often want recommendations on where to have their wedding, knowing the number of guests will help determine the appropriate venue for the couple.
2. Will there be kids at your wedding? Couples often fall in love with a venue and forget to consider whether the venue is the right choice for their style of wedding.
3. What style of wedding are you interested in? Black tie or casual, sit down or buffet, indoor or outdoor etc.
A. I would say the best part of my job is the look on the couples face after months of working together seeing the wedding of their dreams come to life. Watching everyone laughing and dancing, family members and guests sharing their stories on how much they love the new Mr. and Mrs. After helping my best friend deliver her first born, she nick name me her guardian angel on earth. When I get to help couples successfully plan their wedding locally or internationally I feel I’ve earned the title.
