We provide high quality instruction and care to both horse and rider in a friendly, safe and clean environment. We offer private and semi-private horseback riding lessons, horse care lessons, pony parties, scout troop visits as well as a wonderful summer camp program.
We also have a few stalls available for horse owners who participate in our lesson program and offer a full range of barn services including exercising, training, grooming, tacking, etc.
A. Horsebackriding can be a dangerous sport so it is important to know your riding instructor will be teaching the beginner student proper body position while on the horse in the initial lessons. The instructor may put the horse on a lunge line so that he/she controls the horse while the rider practices correct position and builds up need muscles. Once the rider demonstrates correct position then they may control the horse. This ensures rider safety and builds the riders confidence as well.
A. Our horsebackriding instruction at Greenlawn Equestrian Center is superior because we emphasize safety first and teach proper positioning to ensure a good foundation for riding in any discipline. In addition our facility is always well maintained and clean. We limit the number of lessons going on at one time to ensure safety in the ring and to avoid overcrowding. Come see for yourself our facility and meet our trainers!
A. Working with children and animals is our favorite part of our job, they make it fun and unpredictible!
A. When can my child begin riding lessons? Usually the age is about 6 or 7 years old. It is great to get a younger child comfortable mounted on a horse so we offer pony rides which can do that and when they are ready can move onto lessons.
What is required for my childs first lesson? Your child is required to wear a low-heeled boot and have a signed riding agreement on file. We provide equestrian helmets if needed. Other "optional" equipment may include riding gloves, riding pants and a riding vest. Our website has trainer recommended equipment for parent's reference.
