Long Island's first 4,000-square-foot indoor dog park is offering a large, off-leash playground and fitness center for dogs and their owners to play in a safe, clean environment protected from the outside elements.
Why risk exposure to unprotected or aggressive animals at public dog runs when you don't have to? All dogs that visit here are temperament checked and are required to have all their shots and flee protection.
Our play area has recycled, rubberized flooring made specially for dogs to be gentle on their paws. Daily dog park pass (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) is just $10, and a daycare is offered at $35. Boarding and grooming services are provided by our partner, The Barrie Inn.
Discount packages and annual memberships with perks are available. We also offer group and private obedience, behavioral and "sport" training such as agility and rally.
Seminars on specific topics and dog playgroup meetups are sponsored here as well. We are open 7 days a week, including holidays and "bad weather" days.

I would HIGHLY recommend Fido Fitness Club to anyone who wants the best for their dog! I organize a dog playgroup and found Fido Fitness Club when I was searching for an indoor dog park area for my group to meet.
The first time I brought my dog to Fido Fitness, I was pleased. The facility is spacious, CLEAN!, and comfortable and the owners were there on the premises, involved in the day to day operations of their business. My dog played for several hours and made friends quickly with both the staff and the other dogs. Everyone who works there loves dogs and Fido Fitness's behavioral specialist/trainer spent time getting to know my dog, answering my questions about the facility, answering specific questions regarding my dog's quirks, and giving me advice as to how to begin reclaiming my status as the Alpha of my home.
I recently left the country for 11 days and I was stressing over the thought of leaving my Frenchie with a kennel. While my dog is a good girl, she has a tendency of letting me know that she's unhappy with me when I come home from my trips! I ultimately decided to leave my dog at the Barrie Inn, which is owned by one of the same women who own Fido Fitness. During the evenings and mornings, the dogs are at the Barrie Inn and during the daytime, the dogs are in daycare with all their friends at Fido Fitness. They're never caged unless you ask for that! I also liked the fact that I could even watch my furbaby on the webcam from overseas if I was missing her.
While I was gone, I called several times to check on Stella and was met with friendly and warm voices (of people I knew!!!) from both the Fido Fitness and the Barrie Inn staff who updated my on me dog's behavior and I was reassured that I'd made the right choice. The truest test though has been the fact that my dog has been sweet as pie since she came home! No vindictiveness, she's doing wonderfully, and even seems to listen better! (Anyone who has a dog who thinks that she's queen knows that this is a Godsend!)
Ellen, Evelyn, Steve, Carol, and the rest of the staff are superb. You will not regret leaving your pup in the hands of these wonderful dog-lovers! I would highly recommend Fido Fitness and the Barrie Inn and would never even consider leaving my dog anywhere else!

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. We offer daycare 5 days a week and upon special request. We offer training, both group and private. Our manager Steve can also help you with your dog's behavior problems.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Please bring proof of current vaccinations with you to ensure your dog is protected. Also make sure your dog comes with a flat collar on. No halters, prong or choke chain collars allowed.

A. This is the only indoor dog park and fitness center on long island.

A. Fido Fitness Center was created for the love of dogs. We love dogs and are passionate that they get the socializing and exercise that they need.

A. Can I visit the indoor dog park anytime? Yes, you may stop in with your dog without a reservation anytime during our hours of operation.

A. Our daycare dogs love to come here and often wait by their home front door in the morning because they are so anxious to come back to Fido daycare every day to play with their new friends.

A. The owners have dogs who were in need of lots of exercise and Fido Fitness Club offers 4000 sq feet of playground used for off-leash play.

A. My dog is overweight. How can I get him in better shape?
Your dog needs lot of exercise and you should also monitor how much you feed him and cut down on the snacks. Fido Fitness Club can provide your dog the exercise he needs and craves to improve his health and manage his weight. We can also schedule time for your dog on our treadmill for additional exercise.

Fido Fitness Club provides daycare, but in partnership with The Barrie Inn, we can arrange for cage-free overnight boarding and grooming services also.
