Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. At Gateway rodent proofing is one of our many skills, we search the entire home from top to bottom to ensure no hole was left untreated or permanently closed off to unwanted guests. We use a variety of materials such as concrete, sheet metal and copper mesh. We make sure the job is done right the first time. Mice populate every 45 days giving birth to 6 to 10 pups, if not attended to soon, you can be overwhelmed with mice in no time. Don't wait for a bigger problem to emerge, call Gateway right away.
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. We recently treat a 100 unit building for bed bugs that infiltrated approximately 35 apartments. In less than 3 treatments the bed bug population has been fully eradicated thanks to our highly skilled technicians and state of the art equipment.
A customer in Coney Island called about rats in her kitchen, we literally ripped out her kitchen cabinet shelves to uncover a nest of young rats and tunnels that they made through her walls. She was very happy to know that no job was to big for us.
Termites are a problem in Long Island and many parts of Brooklyn. a customer in Brooklyn called about flying insects throughout her basement, he thought they were ants, turns out they were actually swarming termites emerging from his boiler room. We pumped several gallons of termiticide underneath the concrete slab eliminating the problem for good.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Make sure you ask for the companies business registration number and insurance information, you don't want to hire someone who is not certified or experienced. Get as many quotes as you could, many companies, especially large companies can over price a job just to be able to pay their employees and over head, a small business can do the same job or even better than the big corporations.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. How much experience does the technician have in the area i mostly need him to resolve for me? I like problems resolved the first time around if it's possible. Want thing I cannot tolerate is an inexperienced technician with no knowledge of pest identification and decides to hose down the house with chemical. A professional will ask you questions and is taking his time to thoroughly search your home with a powerful flashlight.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. You need to inquire as to the whether or not the technician is licensed and how many years of experience does he or she has. always ask for someone who is certified in a particular category like Termites or Bed bugs.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Ask if the company is insured or licensed. Be sure not to get caught up in a contract that requires you to pay the full year in advance, in most cases when you do that it carries lots of troubles with it. Pay with an as you go program with no binding contracts.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We are a family owned business with no desires to become giants, the bigger you are, the more the quality of service diminishes. We keep our staff small enough to deliver quality work at low prices but big enough to take on most jobs.
