Born in Philadelphia, I have been observing people, places, and things ever since I could remember. When my grandmother would employ PBS Television as our favorite babysitting aid, I would enjoy watching National Geographic and Nature for their non intrusive cinema-graphic style. This became the basis of my photography.
I started photography in 1989 on a suggestion from a mentor who noticed how much I loved his Life Magazine collection. I would analyze the pictures over and over again, captivated by the images telling the story of human emotion and spirit.
Being uncritical, patient, and discreet are the hallmarks of my style. I try to capture the story and natural essence of whatever I shoot, choosing to even forgo flash so the moment can be captured unobstructed.
