FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I specialize in smaller, intimate weddings and elopements. Very often couples come to me because they want a meaningful, "sweet and simple" ceremony held at their site. Many exchange personal vows, which is something they cannot do in the Clerk's office. Some contact me months in advance and others with only a few days to spare. If I'm free, I'd be delighted to participate!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you fully review any prospective celebrant, minister, or officiant's website. You can learn quite a bit about a person by reading thank you notes, viewing videos, reviewing sample ceremonies, and gazing at photos. My registration number is 77862, which you can check with the NYC Marriage Bureau. You should feel comfy when corresponding with your officiant. Is the person warm and kind? Will they be professional and caring on your special day? Many couples leave the officiant part to last. Yet anyone chosen must be experienced and *registered.* Your officiant is legally responsible for all paperwork. Your officiant must be able to speak well. And your officiant must be able to write well. Before you pick napkins, consider who handle the most important part--the marriage service itself!
