The #1 Bed Bug Inspection Team in NY State! We are among the top three longest-serving NESDCA Certified teams that are not employed by a pest control company.

Chuck Cerbini and Barney the Bed Bug Beagle are a NESDCA-certified bed bug scent detection team operating in the New York metro area and within a 100-mile radius. We are much more accurate than human inspections alone, and Chuck has 25 years of bed bug experience.

We do inspections only; there is no conflict of interest! There is no "incentive" for us to find bed bugs because we do not do remediation work. Our team is honest and reliable. Our only agenda is your peace of mind!

I'm so glad I found Chuck and Barney! Chuck spent a lot of time on the phone with me explaining about bed bugs and he answered all my questions. They came to my home and did a very thorough job. No bed bugs after all, thank goodness! Chuck's experience in pest control really is a big plus and I was very comfortable using them because Chuck's company does not do bed bug treatments. That made a big difference for me. I'd recommend them to anyone out there who is looking for an honest, competent advocate.

Question and answer

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. The most important question to ask is if the scent detection team is independent or working for a pest control company. Too many people have called me regretting that they went with one of the pest control companies that advertise their dog on television or on the radio instead of coming to me first. Just as important, is the team NESDCA certified. This is the top-of-the-line, third party, independent agency that tests the team to assure the team can perform as promised.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. When you use Bed Bug Beagle Nose Best, you can rest assured there is no conflict of interest. We inspect and report our findings to you. We do not perform bed bug treatments. We have no incentive to find bed bugs so we can make more money by doing the treatments too. You may want to think twice about using a company that does both inspections and treatments - because this is the conflict of interest issue that Bed Bug Beagle Nose Best DOES NOT have.

Human inspections are fine when there is a very noticeable bed bug problem. You need a NESDCA Certified canine team to discover the beginnings of a problem, when it will be less costly to treat and fix.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. As a pest management professional for 25 years, I enjoy solving problems and building relationships with people that value my professional opinion and experience. I like that respect is a two way street and needs to be earned. You must first earn trust. This is done by being competent, fair and honest.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most people ask me, "How do I get rid of (fill in the bug)."

The old days of being a spray jockey are long gone, so answers are not as simple as they once were. Pest management has come a long way, and people realize that haphazard spraying to eliminate a bed bug problem does not work. The approach needs to be multi-faceted and involves several solutions because there are many pieces to the pest control puzzle. People appreciate this honest, real world approach to pest management. It includes education and education is power.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Barney and I inspected an apartment in Manhattan where the owners had been through hell for several months, had spent MANY thousands of dollars on ridiculous bed bug treatments that did not work. They were actually considering vacating the apartment and moving elsewhere because of the bed bugs! They had put their faith in a company that was only interested in how much they could bill that poor family.

We did the inspection and pinpointed where the bed bug issues were. I then recommended a competent and honest pest control contractor who got rid of the bed bugs and gave the family back their home and peace of mind.
