Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Bathrooms and finish carpentry
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. My advice to you is make sure the company that you choose are licensed and insured, check their background.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. If I was a customer and I wanted to know about my trade what will it be. Simple finish carpentry and the only secret that I have pertaining finish carpentry is a little patients go along way. For example trim molding requires a lot of time and calculations, planing and skill. Step back and try to visualize exactly what you want to do and measure twice and cut once are the two inportant facts of trim molding.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My work stands out more than others becuase the quality of my craftman ship and professionalism that I offer. Also we offer another type of services, Handyman Services as well.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Customer Satisfaction- I enjoy pleasing people anyway that I can.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. The most frequent question asked is how long will it take to start and to finish a project. My answer to that is simple what is important to you the job being done right and the way you want it done or rushed and done half fast and not the way you want it done.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. My wish that customers knew about me is how well my skills in finish carpentry.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. It was very simple for me to decide what I wanted to do. I have a gift when it comes to wood working. I really enjoy working with my hands and creating things.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. One day this women calls me up to come and she her room upstairs. It was a mess walls were broken up ceiling was falling apart. Doors needed to be replaced. So I suggested to do what you can to fix it up nice and do the rest when you can. Well when I started working in her bedroom one thing lead to another and when everything was done the room looked like a million dollars- Georgian style crown molding,Weinscot paneling on walls, doors, and trim molding around windows and doors. Walls/ Ceiling painted, new floor and new furniture.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes, at least twice a year I renew my Lead Base Paint Certfication. When Their seminars on patio pavers products I attend that, Stay Green Study educate the public to go green. The Solar Panel Installers convention in UpState New York.
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. The latest development that came is products are being manufactured environmently friendly which means everything is safe for the environment no toxic chemicals and gases. Designed for mildew and mold retarded.
In the near future everything will be computerized and machines will be doing all the work.Homes will be computer controled and electrical house wiring will be also. Majority of the homes will have video phone installed in their homes- so it is fun for everyone you could talk and view the person you talk to.
