I am the president of a non-profit company and have worked with Roxanne Mapp for over 5 years. She has prepared newsletters and varied promotional materials for the company. Her work is always of the highest quality. Her professionalism, attention to detail, grasp of the customer's needs, and positive attitude make her a joy to work with. Our company is well represented by the work she has done for us. I give her the highest possible recommendation.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Research valid information and request a contract up front. Be sure that there are no hidden fees.
Always look for professionalism and let intuition be
your guide for choosing the right person to do work
for you. Never be afraid to ask questions and always
ask for recommendations and a portfolio before making a deal.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Sure, there are associations for every profession that exist. Trade magazines, journals, newsletters,
websites do exist. Go to your local library and research information, network and join trade associations.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The fact that I feel passionate about what I do,
I love my profession and have been a Graphic Designer
for the past twenty five years. You have to be passionate about what you do. That's key.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Customers know that I am extremely knowledgeable
and that I meet deadlines. My prices are tailored to meet
individual customer needs.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. In my heart I always knew that I would be a Graphic Designer. I started drawing really well at a young age.
I was always fascinated by the Art and Design World.
I started my career in Advertising at age 23 and
never looked back. I love my career.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. The library where I work started Steps to Success,
a home-work help program. I was proud of the logo
and design campaign that I created for this project.
I am still thinking of ways to add to this series.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. How did you merge design and librarianship?
I have worked at a public library as a Graphics Specialist/Webmaster, for 10 years. I love it so much that I decided to go back to school, which I did. I got my Master's Degree in Library Science.
