There is nothing like the vibrancy and warmth of a live acoustic instrument or voice, which a DJ or recording cannot convey. When hiring classical musicians, consider hiring more than just "gig professionals", whose playing might be rusty from repeating the same repertoire over and over again. Make sure that the performers have regular concert experience. This will make a tremendous difference in the level of the performance.
