  • For Students, good price – Nov 01, 2010 at 9:10 pm

  • For those who just want to learn the art of boxing and learn it well, I can provide them the experience without having to box anyone or take any unnecessary risk of being injured. However, for those who want to further their skills I can always provide a comparable boxing partner while under my supervision. – Sep 20, 2010 at 7:53 pm

Hello, my name is Angel and I am a licensed professional trainer. The past 30 years I have dedicated myself to training amateur as well as professional fighters into furthering their craft.

The first session you have with me, I can guarantee that you will leave the gym satisfied and with a feeling of accomplishment.

Since most boxing sessions usually happen in groups and not on a one-on-one basis, clients have the ability to learn and absorb much more than they would in a group class.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Shop around correctly, get to know the place where you will be training at, and always make sure it's one-on-one. You will learn absolutely nothing in group sessions or aerobic boxing. I am the one of the most inexpensive, yet most skilled trainers in the NYC area.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Well, there's a lot of work, which includes light muscle pains and a lot of dedication. Remember, no pain no gain.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. My workplace is located on 539 west 163rd st, between st nicholas and broadway. We have a big ring, weights and a sauna room.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I take pride in what I do. When my clients learn they shine, but I shine more because I have passion and confidence.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Everything. From the time I met my clients until I take them step by step on learning how to box, and it really makes my feel fulfilled.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The first question I get is "Am I capable to learn how to box and how long will it take?". My answer is.."It depends on one's self drive and how consistent"

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I had a kid who walked into the gym with father and his father asked me if I could teach his son how to box. It just so happens that after taking 2 months of boxing with me, a kid from his school began picking on him constantly. He couldn't take it anymore and he opened up with a one-two punch combination and a body shot to the liver. The point of the story is, that kid never bothered him again.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. The pride I take in teaching my clients how to box and them telling me how much they have learned and improved. I am very serious about my profession, as I have been doing this for decades. Boxing is a useful skill when used properly.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I used to box myself, but because of personal reasons in my life, I never continued to box professional. However, I knew that boxing would always stay with me, and what other way to keep my passion than by teaching others everything I know.

Q. What are your most common types of jobs?

A. Training young children, women, and men of all ages.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Owning my own gym, which was located on 92nd st and columbus. However, I moved from there because business was picking up, and I am continuing to expand my work.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Well, I'm always well informed of the boxing business and know what's going on with fighters.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. If you are student, i have special price. call me and i give you all the information.

I studied boxing with Angel at his west side gym, and he is a great instructor. He improved my footwork and showed me how to maximize my punching power. When I would finish a session with Angel I felt as though I could knock down a wall, and that confidence stays with you. I highly recommend Angel as a boxing and fitness instructor. You get hands (or gloves) on experience, and he'll take you as far as you want to go with the boxing. His lessons are not like the nonsense so called boxing classes at health clubs. It's old style real boxing, from a pro.
