Mandarin Tutor

I am an experienced Mandarin tutor for your children. I am a well-educated Chinese female who holds a masters degree from China. I am originally from a large city close to Beijing and have worked in Shanghai as an architect for several years. The methods used in teaching kids are totally different from teaching adults. I am very familiar with the Mandarin teaching materials for children. I teach kids Chinese songs to help them increase vocabulary and use flash cards to help them recognize Chinese characters. I have tutored more than 80 kids, whose ages range from 3 to 13, in Manhattan. I have tutored kids of different nationalities: American, Korean, French and Russian. I have some kids I have been tutoring for more than one and a half years on a weekly basis. References are available upon request. The parents have told me that I am a good tutor. I have also tutored a 4 year old and a 9 year old from two different families. Those parents highly praised me. The 4-year-old boy's school teacher was surprised by his progress and the 9-year-old girl was the only student who was assigned to the highest level Chinese lesson in her whole group (10 students in one group). Parents' references are available. I still have some free time, so I'll be glad to tutor more people. I could teach you and/or your children basic to intermediate language skills (vocabulary, grammar, and simplified Chinese character). You will find me very personable and professional. We can use your textbooks if you prefer, or I can bring some teaching materials for you. I teach people according to their needs and interests. Different teaching methods will be used for different people. We can cover a range of topics, such as greetings, objects, calendar, verbs, ordering food, asking directions, and culture. Simplified Chinese character are offered. In China, 1.3 billion Chinese use simplified Chinese characters instead of traditional Chinese characters. My rate is $50 per hour. I believe that my pricing is fair for what I bring to the table. I provide more experience than the average tutor; the number of people I have tutored bare this out.
