A. Teaching and problem solving on computers and computer networks.

A. Ask for references from people the consultant has worked with.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I've been doing consulting and teaching for over ten years in a variety of settings - classroom, office and homes and as a result I have real world experience in problem solving with both hardware and software.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I get satisfaction when a student has an Aha! moment. Both me and the client get pleasure when I fix or explain something so the client understands and can use an application or device connected with their computer or network setup.

A. What's wrong? Why won't this work? How do I transfer music or pictures to my computer? How do I email a picture?

A. A client complained one wireless connection in the office was unreliable. Because of my practical knowledge, I moved a lamp and all was well.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Knowledge and experience are both crucial to a successful completion of a job.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was a sociology major and doing statistical manipulations required computer savvy.

A. Taught a client who had never used a mouse to do email and edit her poetry.
