Introduction: Justin Crowther was only fourteen years old when he touched his first set of turntables. Unable to afford his own pair of Technics, he spent endless afternoons at a friend's house practicing his beat matching rather than finishing his homework. With records being so expensive and not within his reach, he began spinning drum and bass and jungle records that his friend had already owned. By the age of sixteen, he finally saved up enough to buy his first pair of Technics 1210's and had been coined J Crow by his friends. Justin's love for music started at a young age and began with rap, hip-hop, and R&B. This would definitely help mold the DJ he wanted to become but definitely was just the beginning. After years of ignorance for other music, his ears started to mature and began not only respecting but enjoying other types of music. In a typical set, you may hear anything, from pop, rock, electro, soul, house, reggae, funk, trap to disco. He plays all depending on the crowd and the vibe of the room he's playing. Let's fast forward to age 20. Justin had decided to up and move to NYC looking to further pursue his dream. When first moving to NYC, Justin was more focused on his production rather than just deejaying. After a few years of partying in the NYC scene and making some connections, he started to realized he could actually do what he loved and make a living. It was never so much a way of making money for him rather than the fact that it was something he loved and was so passionate about. After some financial speed bumps and having to sell his original pair of turntables to avoid going back home to Florida, he bartended. This was to save enough money to be able to buy another pair, and his dream had been reignited. After paying some dues and making the right connections, Justin finally saw himself breaking in to the NYC DJ scene. He started slowly by opening for DJ friends of his such as Jus - Ske, Mick Boogie, and Sal Morale. Just a few years later, Justin has deejayed at some of NYC finest night clubs such as, One OAK, The Darby, Pink Elephant, Riff Raff's, Blind Barber, and Jane Hotel, to name a few.
