Introduction: Not too long ago I volunteered to DJ for a non profit organization that I've worked with in the past. It was an award ceremony and reception, very much a suit and tie affair. Towards the end of the night, one lady - sweat dripping down her forehead from all the dancing - starts staring at me with what seemed like a look of disgust. Taken aback a little, I ask her what's wrong. She smiles, and her response was amazing: "this was supposed to be a classy event!" What I love most about my job is getting the crowd to feel like that lady; coming to one of my sets with certain expectations, only to be blown away by how much fun they end up having.

DJ And2 performed at our 4 hour event at the Gowanus Ballroom and was amazing. He listened to our musical needs -- classic hip hop and dance classics with a mix of modern beats -- and delivered. The crowd loved it and it made the event a real party. I highly recommend him!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The only real wrinkle in my quoting comes from the availability of equipment. I don't have party speakers (but pretty much everything else), so the less I have to bring, the less I charge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Through my club/lounge residencies, I'm able to stay on top of the latest music via exposure from fellow DJs, guest requests, etc. In addition, there are a number of DJ based "record pools" I subscribe to in order to stay current.
What types of customers have you worked with?
1. Club/lounge parties - Weekly and monthly residencies at two venues in NYC 2. Special Events - Charity functions, birthday parties, happy hour events 3. Weddings - Ceremony music/AV setup, reception party
