I tutor ages 5 to adult professional.
I have two degrees in percussion and drumming with over 10 years experience in the area. I am currently pursuing Ph.D., has experience with special needs and is a professional full time musician.
I grew up in the rock and jazz tradition but also classically trained on the highest level. I also worked with physical therapists to design a very ergonomic, healthy and efficient approach to technique and teaches in many area music schools. I am positive, flexible, happy and encouraging, great with kids and will push adults in a productive, building way.
My studio includes two drum sets, congas, bongos, djembe, keyboard percussion. Advanced music theory lessons are also available.
My goal is to get you as good as I can as quickly as I can under my tutelage, and I am happy to refer you onto different perspectives and teachers if need-be (ie if you want to get heavy/advanced into something that is not my specialty, I will refer you to a very good specialist).
I want my students to drum happily on the highest level, achieved at each students unique pace and comfort level. It's about the art and the music!
