Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Meet with the advisor and have a conversation about what you are looking for. Does the advisor listen well and respond specifically to your concerns? Do you trust this person? Is this advisor not only a competent financial professional, but also personally committed to sustainable and responsible investing?
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Sustainable and responsible investing is where the entire financial advisory profession is going. Above all, I want to educate my clients about why sustainable and responsible investing is profitable for the long-term investor, and why it is "wealth management for the good of people and the planet."
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Ask about the advisor's commitment to you. Ask about the advisor's process - how s/he works with clients. Ask about fees, and how those fees are invoiced. Ask about the advisor's experience. Ask about the advisor's commitment to sustainable and responsible investing. Ask yourself - do I trust this person?
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Before you engage an advisor, think about what you want to accomplish with your money. What kind of return do you wish to earn? How much risk are you willing to take to earn that return? Beyond your financial objectives, what social and environmental values do you want to encourage and facilitate through your investments?
