Sophia's Flute Studio

Introduction: Certified as Suzuki flute instructor, Sophia takes Shin’ichi Suzuki's philosophy to heart. She believes that everyone can learn confidence, discipline, and the joy of self-expression through studying music. Sophia offers both traditional and Suzuki flute lessons and it is her job and her joy as an educator to tailor her teaching style to meet the varying needs, goals, and interests of each individual student. Sophia began teaching flute student while still in pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at New York University. She graduated from NYU summa cum Laude in 2007 and now teaches a group flute class for the Harmony Program as well as freelancing and maintaining a private studio. Sophia enjoys finding the best way explain flute technique and foster a love of music in each individual student. She takes pride in cultivating creativity, discipline and confidence in her students so that each new technical challenge becomes an exciting adventure.
