Nadia has extensive experience teaching the flute to all ages and levels. A summa cum laude graduate of New York University, she has taught flute and music for several years in a variety of settings including privately, in a residential program and as an elementary band teacher.
She enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels; whether you are coming back to your flute after a break, are a devoted amateur flutist, or your child is just starting to learn the flute, you are welcome for lessons.
She is particularly skilled at ensuring flutists develop good physical habits while playing the flute, as she is also an AmSAT-certified Alexander Technique teacher, having completed a three-year, 1600-hour training. The Alexander Technique is a method for awareness and improvement of postural habits, breathing and movement.
Students are delighted by Nadia's thoughtful, individualized teaching and her gentle way of making learning the flute a fun and educational discovery process. She creates challenging yet well-balanced lessons that allow you to learn in such a way that you can continue your learning process in between lessons.
Lessons are offered in two convenient locations in Manhattan: Midtown West and West Harlem. Nadia is also available to come to your home.
Nadia is also a skilled performer, and is available for weddings, parties, religious services, and other events. She offers memorable music, reasonable rates, and a guarantee of trustworthy service. She truly enjoys setting the right tone with music for your special event!
