- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have a BS in Textiles, Merchandising, Design and started working for Elie Tahari as a Showroom Coordinator, and working on the Visual Team. We all wore many hats, we all wore many hats and I was introduced to many aspects of the the business. I quickly realized that I not only loved working in Fashion, but also with interiors.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Visual - Styling windows, visual displays in stores, showrooms, trade show displays. Interiors - Rooms within houses and apartments, working with existing pieces, and suggesting new items to update the space.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I think it's a matter of research and budget. Ask to see portfolios of past work, always make sure the stylist can work within your budget. I believe when hiring anyone, its about who you feel most comfortable with through the communication.
