Introduction: I have been told I have the patience of a saint. Whether that's true or not I can't completely confirm. However, what I do know and have seen from students that have studied with other teachers is a loss of connection to what it is that the student really wants to get in touch with. I see it time and again: a student comes in, has spent loads of money on lessons where a teacher does the learning for the student--thus leaving the student lost when they end up leaving the lesson and are left on their own. I teach the "how" and "why" of music--simple, fundamental music. Simply put: if one does not know what it is that doesn't work how will they ever find a solution--you can't fix what you don't understand is broken. I see immediately where the weak spots are and focus on solutions. And 9 times out of 10 they are easily solved and the student comes back seeing quick progress. That gives the student that emotional push--that confidence needed--to encourage more success. This is I believe what sets me apart from the "budget" teachers out there. Love to see my clients grow. I've seen a number of students go from guitar owners to guitar players--out there for real, playing and having renewed confidence in their own abilities. That's a great reward.
