I am a perfectionist. To be successful in this line of work this is an essential quality! I also take time with my clients. I never rush through hair or makeup. My goal is to have my client feeling absolutely beautiful when she leaves the chair. Apart from all the fun stuff - working with colours and creating all kinds of different makeup and hair looks, I really love getting to know the people I work with. Hearing their stories and developing a relationship beginning at first contact through to the completion of the job. Seeing someone look in the mirror and tell me they are so happy and that this is the best they have ever looked is an incredibly satisfying part of my job.

This review is way overdue (almost a year) but better late than never. I came to NYC with my now husband for a shotgun wedding just the 2 of us and found laura on gumtree. We had never met and only spoke over email but i would like to say how amazing she was. Not only is she an incredibly friendly person she is professional and her style of work is very classy and elegant. My make up and hair stayed in/on all day without the need to touch up and almost a year later i am having the "ceremony" with friends and family and i am now struggling to find someone as good as her. There is nothing bad i can say about my experience and how pleased i am with how i look in the pictures we had taken. Any brides out there looking for hair and makeup and a great price and professionally done, Laura is your lady!

Laura is an excellent hair and make up artist. Just what every bride is looking for. She knows how to bring out people's natural beauty rather than covering it up. She takes direction well and also makes polite suggestions to help direct the client towards the best look for them. My clients have all loved her. As I wedding photographer, I hope I get the opportunity to work with her again in the future!

Absolutely. You can never stop learning. From day courses with experts in a particular field to online tutorials, replicating looks that you love, and trying every new product on the market!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always loved art and colour, and I was ALWAYS the girl who wanted to give any willing friend or family member a makeover! It was a natural progression to move professionally into hair and makeup.
