I can not say enough wonderful things about Erik and his work! He is the REAL DEAL when it comes to makeup. He is so passionate about his business/profession as a makeup artist as well as his clients.
Watching Erik at work, doing what he loves best, is like watching an artist create a masterpiece! Mixing and blending colors, he truly creates your makeup for YOU, and as an African American woman one of the hardest aspects of makeup is finding the right face makeup but with his skills, he makes it seem so easy (if only it was!)
On the business side, Erik is a true professional. He is extremely responsive, organized and easy to work with. Plus he's very fun to be around and very interaction with him is so positive. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is a true ARTIST!!!

Erik applied skin product for me, shaped my brows and applied my make up before my daughter's wedding. I was pleased that the make up applied lasted throughout the wedding and the reception with only a little touch up needed to my lipstick from time to time after drinking and eating. Best of all, many of my guests complimented me on my appearance throughout the afternoon and evening with words like "radiant, flawless, beautiful, etc." Quite a few of my guests asked me who did my make up. In addition, Erik has an easy, comfortable and professional attitude and personality. He listened to my concerns and wants and offered professional advice that I felt comfortable with allowing him to apply on me. Also, he is agile, adept and well-paced in his artistry and application style. I highly recommend Erik Smithwick to women of all ages, skin types and colors as I saw similar outcomes on my daughter and all of her bridesmaids.
For improvement, I would say that it would have helped of Erik had provided our wedding party with a packet of his business cards as there were quite a few who requested referral information for his services.

Erik did my makeup for my photo shoot. He was extremely professional! I arrived late from another appointment. Not only did he do an AMAZING job, but he was so calm under pressure. He helped me to relax and breathe at a very stressful time. Everything went wrong for me that day, but Erik turned it around completely!! My makeup experience was, without question, the highlight of the day. My makeup looked great! I received many compliments on his outstanding job! I'd recommend him again and again!

I used Erik for a few occasions to do my makeup. He always understood what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. He was easy to schedule with and always on time. I couldn't be more happy with how my makeup turned out and will continue to book him to make me look fabulous. He's my own personal glamour squad! and he's a babe and super sweet that always helps :)
