Introduction: Jinmei Huang is a classical pianist and music educator. Born in Yanbian, China, she started learning the accordion at the age of three and switched to the piano at the age of six. She was awarded first prize at a Jilin province accordion competition in China at the age of six, and the first prize in the Beethoven Sonata Competition in Yanbian at the age of ten. Later, she won the Excellent Performance award at the National Professional Academy Piano Invitational Tournament in China in 2004, and second place for Chinese pieces and third place overall at the Hong Kong-Asia Piano Open Competition in 2008. She obtained her bachelor's degree in piano performance from the China Conservatory of Music and a master's degree in classical piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music, under the guidance of Andre-Michel Schub. Jinmei has more than nine years of musical teaching experience. She focuses on both the appreciation and practice of music and the overall impact of musical education on an individual's mind. Her piano teaching style merges features from both the Suzuki program and the Montessori philosophy to develop children's musical potential and their general intellectual capacity.
